Most bike fits start with the bike. Our bike fit starts with you. Our physiotherapist assesses how your body actually moves — where you are stiff, where you are strong, what an old injury may have changed — and then matches you to your bike. That is the difference: the fit is built around your body's characteristics and capacity, not just around standard ranges.
Each brings different demands. A time-trial position that produces power for 40 kilometres is not the position you want for a long weekend ride, and a mountain bike setup has to work standing and descending, not just seated. We fit to the bike you ride and the riding you do.
Bike fits are booked directly with the clinic rather than online, because they need studio space and a longer appointment, and we hold limited suitable time slots. Call (08) 8357 0418 or email admin@thephysiostudio.com.au. Bring the bike you want fitted.

Ninety minutes. That covers your history and goals, musculoskeletal screening, bike measurement, on-bike assessment with video, and the adjustments themselves.
Road, mountain and triathlon or time-trial bikes. Bring the bike you want fitted, along with the shoes and pedals you ride in.
A bike shop fit is built around the bike and standard position ranges. A physiotherapist assesses how your body moves first — flexibility, strength, injury history — and fits the bike to that. If your hip or back will not tolerate a textbook position, the fit accounts for it.
Often it helps considerably, because poor setup is a common contributor. Where the pain is also being driven by strength or mobility issues, we will tell you and can address that alongside the fit.
Your bike, your cycling shoes and pedals, and cycling clothing you can be assessed and filmed in. If you have any tracking data on your typical rides, that is useful too.
