Who Sean Helps

Sean works with soccer players, active adults, and clients with persistent pain who want to improve movement, reduce pain, and build long-term strength through targeted rehabilitation.

He also supports clients recovering from workplace and motor vehicle injuries, helping them return confidently to work and daily activities.

Treatment Approach

Sean takes an integrated, movement-based approach to physiotherapy, combining hands-on treatment with structured exercise rehabilitation.

As a highly experienced Clinical Pilates Physiotherapist, he uses targeted Pilates-based programs to improve strength, control, and movement efficiency. His approach focuses on identifying the underlying drivers of pain and dysfunction, helping clients build resilience and achieve long-term outcomes.

Sean also incorporates dry needling and acupuncture where appropriate to assist with pain management and muscle function.


Experience & Background

Sean has over two decades of experience in private practice physiotherapy and has played a key role in developing The Physio Studio since joining in 2008 and becoming co-director in 2010.

He has extensive experience working in sport, including:

  • Head Physiotherapist – Cumberland United Soccer Club
  • Physiotherapist – Goodwood Saints Football Club

Sean has also worked internationally in the UK and has developed strong expertise in managing musculoskeletal conditions, as well as workplace and motor vehicle injuries, including functional assessments and return-to-work planning.


Athlete Perspective

Having competed at a high level in both soccer (former SA Premier League player)  and golf, Sean understands the physical demands of sport and the importance of effective rehabilitation to support performance and longevity.

He remains actively involved in the soccer community through his role at Cumberland United and coaching his children at junior level.


Personal Interests

Outside the clinic, Sean enjoys staying active in the gym, cycling, playing golf, and spending time with his family. He is also a member of Kooyonga Golf Club.
