Who Steve Helps

Steve works with active adults, gym-goers, sporting individuals, and post-surgical clients who want to recover effectively, rebuild strength, and return confidently to training, sport, or everyday life.

Clinical Areas of Interest

Steve has a special interest in helping clients with:

  • Gym and strength-training related injuries
  • Sports injury rehabilitation and prevention
  • Prehabilitation prior to orthopaedic surgery
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Mobility, strength, and movement dysfunction

Treatment Approach

Steve combines hands-on physiotherapy with evidence-based rehabilitation and structured exercise programming to help clients achieve lasting outcomes.

His approach places a strong emphasis on identifying the underlying contributors to pain and dysfunction, rather than simply treating symptoms. Steve incorporates movement assessment strategies including the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) to identify contributing factors away from the site of pain and guide targeted rehabilitation.

He also stays current with modern rehabilitation techniques including blood flow restriction training to optimise recovery when appropriate.

Experience & Background

Steve has extensive experience working across both physiotherapy and healthcare settings, bringing a unique perspective to rehabilitation through his background as a highly experienced theatre and peri-operative registered nurse.

This dual-clinical experience gives Steve particular insight into helping clients prepare for surgery, understand the surgical process, and navigate post-operative rehabilitation with confidence.

Steve also provides sports physiotherapy services to The Physio Studio’s affiliated football and soccer teams.

Personal Interests

Outside the clinic, Steve enjoys strength training, CrossFit, snowboarding, and following his beloved Liverpool FC and Port Adelaide.

As someone passionate about training and performance himself, Steve understands the importance of building strength and resilience to support long-term physical health.

Steve’s Philosophy

“Get stronger and keep moving throughout the day — a lot of injuries and conditions respond to this. As physios, it’s our job to facilitate the right type of movement and strengthening to help people achieve their goals.”
